Domenica è giorno di riposo, così ci concediamo alcuni musei di Sofia, dalla mostra di Auguste Rodin a quella degli artisti contemporanei Bulgari.

Giovedì abbiamo esposto le varie idee per lo sgraffito, cercando di arrivare ad un tema comune per tutte le università, dopo il brainstorming con le altre università, abbiamo continuato il nostro lavoro arrivando ad un punto comune anche tra noi ragazzi dell' Accademia di Macerata.
On Thursday we have presented various ideas for the sgraffito, trying to find the common topic that that would unite all the Universities; after the brainstorm meeting with other Universities we have continued our work until we have reached the common point of view.

Mercoledì ogni università ha mostrato le foto del proprio dipartimento, e i loro materiali d'ispirazione per il lavoro sullo sgraffito. Al nostro turno abbiamo guardato le foto del duomo di Siena con un'esaustiva spiegazione del professor Marcaccio. Poi abbiamo continuato il lavoro sui bozzetti e le ricognizioni per le mostre degli studenti bulgari.

Siamo già al terzo giorno in Bulgaria ed in programma abbiamo la visita alla chiesa di Boyana, una piccola struttra immersa nel verde, ricca di riferimenti iconografici utili al nostro lavoro. La visita dura solo 10 minuti e possiamo entrare in gruppi molto piccoli, questo per preservare le opere, ma l'ambiente interno è incredibilmente suggestivo. Poi un fuori programma organizzato dal Prof. Dobrov, che ci ha mostrato il museo nazionale bulgaro: grande e ricco di storia. Poi abbiamo visionato il muro dove andremo a fare lo sgraffito, per tornare alla fine in accademia a lavorare sui primi bozzetti.
It’s our third day in Bulgaria and we’re about to visit the Boyana Church, a small chapel immersed in a green landscape. The chapel is reach of iconografic references useful for our work. Each visit inside the Boyana can last only 10 minutes and we can enter only in small groups, to preserve frescoes, but the inside surrounding is incredibly suggestive. After admiring the Boyana Church prof. Dobrov organized for us a visit in a National Museum of Bulgaria: huge and rich of the history. Than we’ll inspect the wall on which we’re going to create our sgraffito and we’ll return to the Academy to work on our first sketches.

Come da programma lunedì mattina siamo arrivati all' Accademia di Sofia,
in fermento per il periodo d'esami, durante il quale i ragazzi bulguri
organizzano delle mostre con i loro lavori migliori. In questa viva
situazioni siamo stati accolti dal Prof. Dobrev Boyan, che ci ha
mostrato il suo dipartimento, quello di arti murali, e l'accademia in
generale. Dopo il primo di una lunga serie di pranzi alla caffetteria
dell'Accademia, e un' altro giro per gli atelier studenteschi, siamo
andati a vedere un briciolo di Sofia, restando incantati e
ripromettendoci di visitarla meglio, tempo permettendo.

Finalmente siamo arrivati a Sofia in Bulgaria, un volo eccellente e un' accoglienza premurosa, il tempo: ventoso, piovoso, poi soleggiato e poi nuovamente piovoso ci ha mostratto fin da subito tutte le varietà climatiche del paese. Arrivati finalmente agli alloggi e posati i bagagli, abbiamo fatto la conoscenza degli altri ragazzi, le prime bariere linguistiche non sono state un ostacolo per capire che eravamo tutti stanchi ed eccitati. Poi Kalin un ragazzi bulgaro del 3° anno ci ha mostrato il quartiere dove risediamo, la "città degli studenti", estremamente affascinante come l'europa dell'est. Neanche il tempo di tornare agli alloggi che i docenti, Pierpa e Seba per gli amici, ci hanno raggiunto per la cena. Così mentre gli altri ragazzi dell'Accademia di Valencia e di Varsavia cenavo con i rispettivi professori, noi non da meno abbiamo assaltato un ristorante, con portate locali, per fare la nostra prima esperienza bulgara, squisita.

When we finally arrived to our accommodation and we got rid of our laguages, we met partecipants from other countries. The language barrier was not a problem to understand that we’re all both tired and excited. Kalin, the Bulgarian student of the 3rd year of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia showed us around the students quartier. Italian teachers, Pierpa e Seba (for friends!) have joined students from Macerata for dinner, as other professors from Valencia and from Warsaw had dinners with their students. It was our first possibility to try tipical Bulgarian dishes and our first exquisite Bulgarian experience.
